I don’t know what to do or say, write or think about it. This famous psychic predictions was told me by someone I trust, you can believe it or ignore it, but I feel that we must unit at this times.
The treatment of the homeless and poor is nothing short of an all-out war being waged against them. They are mercilessly harassed and punished with relentless disregard, contempt and blame.
More people are being forced into poverty by governments supposedly representing us while they protect and subsidize the wealthy and corporate wealth. Social responsibility is not transferred to those with the power to do something about it — only the poor are blamed. There can be no excuse for persecuting the poor and numbing the social conscience. When assistance is given it often includes a judgmental negative view.
In every city in North America more people are forced into homelessness. They become even more disenfranchised and discriminated upon. The realities of poverty and homelessness are frightening. It feels like i give less than i ever have — as i make every effort to give of my time and pay attention to the person confronting me. i don’t have any solutions or quick fixes to offer but i want to care and see something positive happen. i don’t want to just feel discouraged and helpless and not assist . Or to be able to loathe and judge and dismiss and discriminate upon.

How good is my fortune to be able to avoid being in cities where i am confronted by the needy? — Where i feel being constantly asked to help can have me also feeling uncomfortable, unsafe and threatened. — Where every effort is made to make ’them’ go away.
i wish i could write about the injustices inflicted upon the poor and homeless by those we give power to — supposedly to act on our behalf. Their strategies and relentless persecution is shocking! It is grossly unfair warfare.
It is easy to dismiss segments of the population – how unloving to activate our ‘-isms’ (racism, sexism, ageism, etceteras). i don’t want to fabricate any excuse for not caring or responding. It is too easy not to be aware or not to recall how some people have been repeatedly made to feel powerless. People are judged and persecuted by their different-ability, age, colour, race, gender, sexuality, and economic means … . The genocide enacted against indigenous peoples by generations of lawmakers is an absolutely criminal and a shameful example.
The contempt for the poor is sustained by manipulating myths of abuse.

So what if the system gets abused from time to time. The exposes’ paraded by the media via grandstanding, elected politicians are more shameful – we don’t go around shutting down libraries each time a book gets stolen! No excuses can take away our responsibility to help the homeless and poor and disenfranchised. It is cruel and mean and immoral and inhumane not to push for and demand action to help the increasing numbers of persons among us without the means to take care of themselves. We contribute to this growing population by the actions of those we elected.
We must provide for one another or we cannot identify ourselves as ‘civilized’.
